On March 20, 2024 Baxter County Deputy, Sergeant Craig Kocka, responded to a 911 call of a possible overdose in the 7000 block of Highway 5 North, Mountain Home. Sergeant Kocka arrived and found an 18-year-old male unresponsive in a chair. Sergeant Kocka administered two doses of Narcan to the male, which resulted in the male subject begin to stir. Baxter Health Ambulance Personnel arrived and transported the male subject to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Because of the quick actions of Sergeant Craig Kocka, the 18-year-old survived the drug overdose. Sergeant Kocka was awarded the Naloxone Life Saving Award for his actions.
This is the third lifesaving award Sergeant Kocka has received.
