Barbara Joyce Christopher, 92 of Walnut Ridge, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, in the St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born January 19, 1932, in the Evergreen Community, near Walnut Ridge; daughter of the late, Claude “Shorty” Rice and Elsie Booth Rice. Barbara was united in marriage to the love of her life Lowell Christopher on June 6, 1956. She was a loving wife, mother, and nana. She was a hard worker, taking care of her home, family, and any chore on the family farm. She loved to cook and babysit her grandson when he was little. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lowell; a son, Don Davis Christopher; one sister, Pat Dawson; and two brothers, Carl and Frankie Rice.
Survivors include her daughter, Kelly (Tom) Richardson of Walnut Ridge; a grandson, Christopher (Erica) Richardson of Paragould; two brothers, Claude Jr. (Dixie) Rice of Walnut Ridge and Marlin (Judy) Rice of Pocahontas; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 11 A.M. in the Bryan Chapel, with Bro Tim Campbell, Bro. Dale Blackwell, and Bro Robbie Hager Jr officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Richardson, Blake Snow, Shawn and Brandon Dawson, Ron and Jeff Rice. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Graham, Curtis Goodwin, Gary and Mitch Little. Interment will follow in the Old Military Cemetery in Sedgwick.
