With the help of a Grant through the Arkansas Recreational Trails Program (RTP-21), ArDOT Job#101103, which will help cover a majority of the cost for asphalt repairs and improvements to the Stewart Park Loop Trail Road.

The City of Walnut Ridge Street Department has begun the preliminary work for improvements to the Stewart Park Loop Trail Road.

The Street Department is currently removing old stumps, working on soft spots and dips on the existing loop road in order to prepare a solid foundation for the asphalt overlay and widening project.

The city will ultimately be widening the existing loop trail to 16’, providing a 4’ walking path and bike lanes.

The new Park Loop Trail Road will be one-way, in compliance with the Grant guidelines as well as for safety purposes.

Depending on bids, or any unforeseen delays, we are hoping to have the Stewart Park Loop Trail Project finished sometime this summer.
Until then, we will try to keep the work areas as confined as possible.
