Black Rock And Lynn Fire Departments Respond To A One Vehicle Accident On Hwy. 25
At 1:18 pm on Saturday May 19th, the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a on vehicle accident in the S-curve on Hwy 25 just before Lake Charles. Black Rock and Lyn Fire Departments were paged as well as AET Ambulance, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies and Arkansas State Police.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find an overturned semi-truck with the driver trapped inside and injured. Lynn responded with it’s rescue truck to remove the victim, Air Evac was called for to transport the patient.
At 1:26 pm the Black Rock Fire Department closed Hwy 25 while rescue workers freed the victim from the wreckage, the Arkansas Highway Department was also called to clean up gravel deposited on the road from the wreck. The semi was reported to be hauling chicken litter. Rescue workers removed the victim and placed the victim in an ambulance. The AET unit then moved the victim to a landing zone set up by the Black Rock Fire Department close to the scene.
At 1:53 pm Air Evac landed at the landing zone, the victim was flown to a hospital for treatment of injuries. The name of the victim and extent of injuries has not been released. The accident is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police.
