Lawrence County Deputy Captures A “Hit And Run” Driver Within Minutes

The Lawrence County Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a two vehicle accident at Lawrence 204 and Hwy 63 at 8:31pm on Thursday. The caller stated that one of the vehicles left the scene of the accident and was headed south on Hwy 63.

The Imboden Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene along with AET Ambulance, a firefighter on scene cancelled the fire department and ambulance, there were no injuries and the vehicle was not in the roadway.

A Lawrence County Deputy heading north from Portia was contacted by a Walnut Ridge Police Department Reserve Officer who was behind the suspect vehicle as it traveled south toward Black Rock, the Walnut Ridge Officer contacted the Lawrence County Deputy and advised the suspect vehicle was “all over the road”. The Lawrence County Deputy stopped the suspect vehicle in Black Rock and a female driver was arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail. The driver was charged with DWI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Reckless Driving and No Proof of Insurance.
