The first thing we noticed about Pig-n-Out was the wonderful smell hitting our noses before we even entered the restaurant. The scent of bbq coming from their huge outdoor cooker should bring locals in by the droves. Owner Keith Wilson was hard at work at the cooker when we arrived. When we walked into Pig-n-Out & choose the big corner booth to sit in I was really impressed with the cleanliness and the newly painted bright white walls with red trim. Owner Carrie Wilson brought our drinks out and we placed our orders after scanning the menu. We ordered the jumbo bbq sandwich with curly fries (for him) and a stuffed bbq tater (for me). We had a choice of mild, hot, or sweet sauce for our bbq.
When our orders arrived the first thing I said was “Oh my gosh that is one big potato!” Carrie told us that the potatoes that she orders for the restaurant are at least a pound per potato! It was stuffed with their delicious chopped pork with my choice of hot bbq sauce, beans, slaw, onion, shredded cheddar cheese and topped with a dollop of sour cream. Buddy’s jumbo bbq sandwich with sweet sauce was no tiny meal itself. The huge sandwich contained just the right amount of meat, sauce, and slaw. The home made curly fries made a great side order and Carrie brought us an order of their ribbon fries to try out. Ribbon fries are one of their huge potatoes thinly spiral sliced to make a connecting “ribbon” of crispy fries. They are really yummy and home made!
We came away from our first local restaurant review with many good things to say about Pig-N-Out BBQ . The portions were more than ample, prices reasonable, our drinks stayed full, and the people were friendly. The highlights of our meal were the scrumptious home made ribbon fries (we took some home in a to-go bag) and the bbq sauce was truly outstanding!! I thought it was hands down the BEST sauce I’ve ever tried.
As we were leaving we noticed that Pig-N-Out also serves the breakfast crowd with standard breakfast fare as well as doughnuts and long johns. We are looking forward to trying out breakfast there in the future.
If your a local area resident or just driving through looking for a good meal Pig-N-Out BBQ in Imboden, Arkansas is a great place to eat!
