(WALNUT RIDGE, Ark.) – New award categories have been added for the 11th annual Abbey Road Car Show in downtown Walnut Ridge. The car show takes place Saturday, Sept. 19, as part of the Beatles at the Ridge music festival.

The number of awards has been expanded from three to five this year, giving participants a greater chance to win. The people’s choice awards, which are chosen by vote of festival attendees, cover four different age categories, and an award has been added for trucks, as well.

The awards categories this year are:

  • Antique: Up to 1959
  • Early Classic: 1960 to 1984
  • Late Classic: 1985 to 2009
  • Modern: 2010 and Newer
  • Favorite Truck

For the purposes of the show, a truck will be defined as a vehicle primarily designed and built for hauling cargo in an open or enclosed truck bed. The category will exclude SUVs and vans unless specifically modified to include a bed for hauling purposes.

The car show will be held on NW 3rd & West Walnut Streets, next to Regions Bank. The entry fee is $20, and vehicles can start lining up at 9:00 am next to Walnut Ridge City Hall on NW 3rd Street.

The festival itself opens at 10 am, and it runs until the conclusion of the Liverpool Legends’ performance that evening. Beatles at the Ridge takes place in downtown Walnut Ridge and encompasses several city blocks on the north side of Main Street.
