Jeanette Ann (Maggard) Smith, 64, of Walnut Ridge, passed from this life on August 13, 2026 in Chicago, IL.
Born May 2, 1962 to the late Don and Mary Maggard in Springfield, Missouri.
She was known for the 24 years she dedicated to working at Walmart, as well as her time as a substitute teacher in Lawrence County and the surrounding areas. She was a devoted caretaker who never hesitated to lend a helping hand and would do anything she could to help those in need. Her caring heart and selfless nature touched the lives of so many.
Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and family. She loved spending countless hours making memories with the people she loved most. Her family was her greatest joy, and the love she gave so freely will remain in their hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Smith, parents Don and Mary Maggard as well as JL and Ann Wright, brothers Timmy Maggard, Andy (Carol) Maggard, Daniel Maggard and nephew Donald Maggard.
She will be remembered by her son Bruce “Wayne” (Kim) Smith, her daughters; Crystal (Jackey) Parker and Haley Smith. Her sisters Donna Boothe and Diane (Boyce) Dulaney. Her brothers Tommy (Francis) Maggard, Robert (Angie) Maggard and Randy Maggard, Mike (Laura) and Kevin (Beverly) Wright. Grandkids Logan, Cayden, Alexis, Kaitlyn, Colin and Jackson; A grandson on the way, Carter and a host of nieces, nephews, as well as grandnieces and grandnephews. Life long friends Bruce Smith Sr, Betty Gail Kirby and Rhonda Flemon.
Services will be held at the Hoxie Church of Christ.
Visitation will be held on Thursday August 20, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Funeral Service will be Friday August 21, 2026 beginning at 10:00am.
