Daniel Honeycutt, an inmate at the LCSO Detention Center awaiting trial for animal cruelty now faces additional charges after he assaulted several inmates and jailers at the Detention Center.
Daniel Honeycutt, age 30, was charged with second-degree battery, a Class D felony, and five Class A misdemeanor counts of third-degree battery after District Judge Bigger found probable cause to charge Honeycutt on July 1st.
Court documents state that Honeycutt allegedly started a fight with another inmate, punching him in the face, when two other inmates tried to break up the fight, Honeycutt punched them in the face. Honeycutt was physically restrained by jail staff and placed into solitary confinement according to law enforcement.
Reports say that while Honeycutt was in solitary confinement, he began kicking the door and attempted to cause harm to himself. When jailers intervened, Honeycutt spat on the officers. Honeycutt was removed from the cell and placed in a restraint chair. Honeycutt continued to resist and spat on another jailer before being restrained.
Honeycutt has an August 3rd 2026 court date on his new charges.

Walnut Ridge Man Arrested On Cruelty To Animals Charge

Daniel Wayne Honeycutt age 30 of Walnut Ridge was arrested on March 11th and charged with Aggravated Cruelty To A Dog/Cat/Equine.
This charge stems from an investigation that began when WRPD investigated allegations of bestiality that involved Honeycutt’s wife who was arrested and is still incarcerated.
Investigators discovered an animal in the home that was active dying according to the affidavit along with two puppies. Investigators stated no pet food was found, Daniel Honeycutt was advised to take the dying animal to the veterinary.
Investigators returned to the residence and discovered the puppies had since died.
Chief Ferrell and WRPD Investigators received numerous reports from the public regarding how they allegedly mistreated animals.
Authorities say this is at least four dogs in the last month that Daniel and Crystal Honeycutt have had die from abuse.
Daniel Wayne Honeycutt is currently incarcerated in the LCSO Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing and court date.
