At 2:55pm on Friday, a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy reported having a male Hispanic subject flee on foot in the area of Hwy 412 near the Hwy 63 intersection.
As the officer made contact with three individuals near 412 Auto Sales, one ran on foot across a field and into the woods.
The two other suspects were detained as officers from other agencies converged on the area to assist.
Hoxie Police, Walnut Ridge Police, Arkansas State Police and Black Rock PD along with their K-9 unit all responded.
Lawrence County E-911 Dispatch contacted the railroad and had all trains stopped as officers searched for the individual.
Deputies contacted a local flying service that offered to fly over the area in an attempt to spot the subject.
The description released was a Hispanic male in a black t-shirt.
After a search of the area, the two subjects detained were transported to the LCSO Detention Center by ASP and LCSO.
The third subject was never found.
The two detained were identified as Denilson Lopez and Walter Sanchez-Lopez, both were booked into the LCSO Detention Center under charges of “Hold For Other Agency”.
At 3:50pm the railroad was notified they could release the stopped trains and resume normal operations, by 4:00pm the scene was clear.
