On Tuesday June 9th, 2026, at 7:30 P.M. the Clay County Sheriff’s Dept. received a 911 call about an altercation at 505 Stephens Street in Success.

When a deputy arrived, he came in contact with a family member who had been punched in the eye. Then the deputy came in contact with the subject who allegedly had become violent. The individual then tried to show the deputy a video from his phone, but nothing could be made out on the video. Another deputy arrived, and he could not make anything out on the video. The deputies took 53yr. old Billy Joe Jordan into custody at this time. After he was placed in handcuffs Mr. Jordan requested to go to the bathroom but managed to pull out a handful of hypodermic needles from the front pocket of his pants. Deputies during a pat down search found other illegal drugs and paraphernalia on his person. A deputy went over to the bed that the subject was knelt down by when they came in contact with him. The deputy found a 44 Magnum handgun lying on the floor under the bed. A check was run on the handgun that came back as stolen out of Butler County Missouri.

Mr. Jordan who is on probation with a search waiver on file, had a probation search conducted on his bedroom and vehicle. There were other illegal items found in both. Mr. Jordan was then transported to the Clay County Detention Center and booked in on the following charges. Domestic Battery-3rd Degree, Possession of Firearm by Certain Persons, Theft by Receiving, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of SCH VI LT 4OZ, Possession of Meth or Cocaine GT 2GM but LT 10GM and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
