THAYER, Mo. — An Arkansas man has been arrested after Thayer Police responded to an incident involving an assault on Wednesday, May 13th 2026.

According to court documents, Colton Robinson of Pocahontas, Arkansas was charged with first-degree assault with serious physical injury, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child creating substantial risk and two counts of armed criminal action.

The probable cause statement says officers were alerted to the event, where the victim claimed it took place on Highway 142, east of Thayer Missouri.

The victim said the incident occurred as he was driving, when he claimed Robinson stopped in the middle of the road to force their vehicle to stop.

The victim exited their vehicle and told Robinson that “he was going to get all of them killed,” with Robinson attacking him following the statement.

Robinson allegedly struck the man in the face multiple times and kicked him in the back, and later ran toward the highway to flag down a passing vehicle. Robinson was said to have jumped into the back of the truck and left the scene.

Robinson was located by police at a Walmart, where he was transported to the police department.

Robinson admitted to illegally passing on a double yellow line and stopping in the middle of the road to stop the other vehicle.

Robinson claimed he did fight with the victim, but claimed the man started it by slapping him with an open hand.

Robinson also admitted to grabbing the victim’s head and shoving it into the dirt.

A woman who was driving with two children stated to law enforcement that she observed the incident, stating she was driving down the highway when Robinson blocked the road.

The statement claims the relative of Robinson was yelled at to move the vehicle he was driving, with them getting into the driver’s seat and leaving the scene.

Robinson then attempted to get into the woman’s vehicle, but as a black truck pulled up, he jumped into the bed of the truck, according to the report.

Authorities retrieved a short video from a witness of Robinson in the back of the truck while fleeing the scene.

Robinson was arrested and is currently in the Oregon County Missouri Jail with a $25,000 bond, with a hearing set for Wednesday, May 20.
