Rodney “Moose” Lee Rutherford, 65 of Hoxie passed away April 8, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
Born March 18, 1961, in Chaffee, MO, he was the son of the late Willy B. and Dorthy Haynes Rutherford. Rodney was united in marriage to Lavanna Lash on August 17, 2002. He worked as a truck driver and enjoyed hunting in his spare time.
Survivors include his wife, Lavanna of the home; three children, Rodney Rutherford Jr., Larry Richey, and Sherry Compton; six grandchildren, Skylia Lester, Kody Lester, Katlyn Richey, Kirsten Richey, Gabe Rutherford, and Colton Rutherford; three sisters, Sue, Annie, and Christina; five brothers, Don, Darrol, Willy, Doug, and Billy; and many other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
