On Saturday March 28th, 2026 at approximately 9:25 P.M. the Clay County Sheriff’s Dept. received a 911 call about a lady trying to start a fight. They were advised this happened at the Tourist Information Center North of Corning on U.S. 67. The caller advised 911 that a lady had tried to start a fight with her and her boyfriend. A deputy went to the rest area, and came in contact with 28yr. old Ashley Brooke Allred of Rector. Allred appeared to be highly intoxicated.

The jailers went into her cell when she attacked a jailer and deputy. Allred was taken down to the floor where she was able to kick a female jailer in the head and throat. A jailer went and got the restraint chair where Allred was placed until she was not a threat to herself or the jail staff.
