An investigation by the Walnut Ridge Police Department has led to charges after a 72 year old woman was found laying on a concrete floor covered in feces, urine, maggots, fleas and cat litter by Paramedics.
According to her husband, she’d been there for days. The husband gave the excuse of the cost of an ambulance was the reasoning.
McKenzie also stated he used the cat litter to attempt to mask the odor.

Randolph Scott McKenzie of Walnut Ridge has been charged with Neglect Of A Vulnerable Person (Serious Injury) and is currently incarcerated in the Lawrence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
According to the affidavit, Mrs. McKenzie was transferred to a long term care facility but passed away February 22nd 2026 according to investigators.
