A strong storm system passed through Lawrence County on Sunday causing widespread damage.
Shortly after 5pm as the county had already been placed under several watches and warnings, the storm system entered the county.
Tree damage was reported in the Strawberry area, an area of rotation moved through the Minturn area causing damage to at least one mobile home, several trees and power lines were reported in that area. Power lines in the area of Hwy 91 outside Walnut Ridge were reported damaged. Hoxie reported several trees down including one reported on a house.
Downed trees blocked Lawrence 716, reports of a shed in the middle of Lawrence 701 along with roof damage to a structure and damage to a grain bin.
Rotation was reported and tracked crossing I-57 and continuing south of Sedgwick.
Lawrence County Judge Gary Barnhill had crews out assisting with clearing debris.
Numerous fire departments assisted with clearing roadways and assessing damage along with Hoxie Police, Arkansas State Police, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies and Black Rock Police.
