John Noah Clement Sr. 78, of Hoxie passed away March 8, 2026, at the Ash Flat Nursing & Rehab Center.
Born January 19, 1948, in Pine Bluff, AR, to A.J. and Sarah Elizabeth Gibbs Clement. John was united in marriage to Penny Goodnight for 49 years, the love of his life. He devoted his life to serving his country starting in Vietnam. Upon returning home from Vietnam, he was a motorcycle cop in Pine Bluff from 1970-1976. Then he started full time in the Arkansas National Guard. He retired as Sargeant Major in 2000 with many medals including the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5th Award) along with numerous others. His greatest joys in life were fishing, collecting fishing gear, taking care of his family, and spoiling his granddaughters. John was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Penny Clement; his mother, Sarah Elizabeth; and his father and stepmother, A.J. and Deloris Clement.
Survivors include a son, John Noah (Becky) Clement Jr. of Harrison; one daughter, Kelley (Richard) Whitmire of Hoxie; two granddaughters, Caroline and Emma Claire; three brothers, Everett (Jean) Clement of Grapevine, Ray (Anne) Clement of Risen, and Ronnie Clement of Whitehall; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service with Military Honors will be Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 3 PM in the Ward Cemetery in Strawberry.
