An inmate in the Clay County Detention Center already sentenced to ADC is facing additional charges after he attacked detention officers during an incident at the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
According to Sheriff Ronnie Cole, jail staff observed inmate Ronald Kaden Endress, age 21, of Campbell, Missouri, on March 8, 2026, with a piece of blanket fashioned into a noose around his neck.
When a detention officers attempted to remove the noose, officers were attacked by Endress.
Endress managed to exit his cell during the attack and enter the hallway of the jail but refused orders to return to his cell. A second detention officer arrived to assist, officers were able to force Endress back into his cell.
Correctional officers were again attacked by the suspect when attempting to remove items from the inmate’s cell. A deputy who was at the detention center responded and assisted in restraining Endress, who was placed in a restraint chair until he was no longer considered a threat to himself or others.
Endress was already convicted and sentenced to the Arkansas Department of Correction on terroristic threatening-1st degree is now charged with additional charges including second-degree battery, first-degree terroristic threatening, criminal mischief, and impairing the operation of a vital public facility.
