The Sharp County Sheriff’s Office recently improved radio communications in the southwest part of the county.
Thanks to Sidney Mayor Nathan Bloch, former Fire Chief Joe Blackburn, and Ronnie and Brandon Schultz, we were able to utilize the communication tower on the Schultz farm to install a new repeater. This upgrade now provides reliable radio coverage for emergency responders in an area that previously had very limited service.
The project was completed by Wilks Communications and funded through NCIC inmate communications and commissary funds from the Sharp County Detention Center. We appreciate the Schultz family for helping make this possible.
