The Corning Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a fraud investigation.

On February 25, 2026, the Corning Police Department submitted an affidavit for an arrest warrant upon completing a fraud investigation, which was granted on the same day.

Subsequently, 37-year-old David ‘Dee’ Leonard was taken into custody by the Corning Police Department.

Mr. Leonard was transported to the Clay County Detention Center and booked on charges of four counts of Felony Forgery in the second degree § 5-37-201.

District Judge Curtis Hitt set bond for Mr. Leonard at $25,000.
