In the interest of transparency and to address misinformation circulating on social media, we are releasing the following statement:
On Thursday, February 12, 2026, the Batesville Police Department, acting on information received from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, executed a court-authorized search warrant at a residence in Batesville, Arkansas. The search was conducted as part of an ongoing criminal investigation involving alleged sex crimes against a child. During the execution of the search warrant, multiple individuals were detained and interviewed. Evidence was seized pursuant to the warrant. The operation was carried out by officers of the Batesville Police Department with assistance from members of the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force. At this time, no arrests have been made. The evidence collected will be submitted to the 16th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review, and charges are anticipated.
We also remind the public to use caution when viewing and sharing information on social media. Information circulated online is not always accurate and can create unnecessary concern within the community.
