On February 10th, 2026, at approximately 2:15 P.M. the Sheriff’s Dept. received a call from Doniphan Police Dept. about a rolling domestic in progress heading out of Ripley County into Clay County.

As the domestic came into Clay County at Current View on Highway 211, the Sheriff’s Dept. was advised that the lady had her 2 children in the car with her, and her ex-boyfriend was trying to force her off the road. Clay County stayed in communication with Doniphan P.D. as the domestic turned onto Hwy 328 at Success.

Doniphan advised the male subject was passing the caller, and blocking the road to get her stopped. At one point the male subject got the lady stopped and can be heard hitting the vehicle with his hands trying to get in the caller’s vehicle. The caller was advised by Doniphan P.D. to back up and try to go around the male subject’s vehicle, which she did.

This episode reportedly occurred multiple times before the male subject saw a deputy, and turned off Highway 328 onto County Road 195. The deputy got the male subject stopped on County Road 178, and took 28yr. old Devin Dwayne Browning of Doniphan into custody. Mr. Browning was transported to the Clay County Detention Center, and booked in on the following charges. Felony Aggravated Assault, 2 counts of Felony Endangering The Welfare Of A Minor -1st Degree, and Misdemeanor Carless/Prohibited Driving.
