Notice is hereby given that the Lawrence County Election Commissioners have set the following polling places for the 2026 Preferential Primary, Non Partisan General & Annual School Elections on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Polls will open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.

Early Voting will be held in the Conference Room of the Lawrence County Courthouse
Beginning on Tuesday February 17th and end on Monday, March 2nd
Voting will be from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 10:00am to 4:00 pm on Saturday. Early voting will end on Monday March 2nd at 5:00 pm.

Ballot Canvassing and Counting
Absentee processing will be conducted in the Conference Room of the Lawrence County Courthouse on Tuesday March 3rd between the hours of 5:00 – 7:30P.M.
Election Day processing and tabulating will be Election Night after the Polls close in the Courtroom at the Lawrence County Courthouse.
Review of Provisional Ballots – March 4th 9:00 A.M. until Complete
Post Election Audit – March 6th at 9:00 A.M. until completed Lawrence County Meeting Room
Final Review and Counting Provisional – Monday March 9th at 1:00 P.M. County Clerk’s Office

Election Officials list is posted on the window of the County Clerk’s Office.
Must not be married to or related within the second degree of consanguinity to any candidate running for office in the current election if objection to the service is made to the county board of election commissioners within seven (7) calendar days after the posting of the list of officials;
(j) Must not be the spouse of a member of the county board of election commissioners if objection to the service is made to the county board of election commissioners within ten (10) calendar days after the posting of the list of officials; and
(k) Must not be the chairman or the spouse of a chairman of a county political party if objection to the service is made to the county board of election commissioners within ten (10) calendar days after the posting of the list of officials.

Any voter may look up his or her sample ballot on the Secretary of State’s website at:

Ballots will be available no later than 20 days prior to the election. Sample ballots will also be available at the polling site.

The total tax rate proposed above includes the uniform rate of tax (the”Statewide Uniform Rate”) to be
collected on all taxable property in the State and remitted to the State Treasurer pursuant to Amendment No.
74 to the Arkansas Constitution to be used solely for maintenance and operation of schools in the State. As
provided in Amendment No. 74, the Statewide Uniform Rate replaces a portion of the existing rate of tax levied
by this School District and available for maintenance and operations of schools in this District. The total proposed
school tax levy of 35.30 mills includes 27.50 mills specifically voted for general maintenance and operation
and 7.80 mills voted for debt service previously voted as a continuing levy pledged for the retirement of existing
bonded indebtedness. The surplus revenues produced each year by debt service millage may be used by the
District for other school purposes. The total proposed school tax levy of 35.30 mills represents the same rate
presently being collected.

Hoxie School
36.00 Mills School Tax
The total rate proposed above includes the uniform rate of tax 25.00 mills (the “Statewide Uniform Rate”) to be
collected on all taxable property in the State and remitted to the State. Treasurer pursuant to Amendment No.
74 to the Arkansas Constitution to be used solely for maintenance and operation of schools in the State. As
provided in Amendment No. 74, the Statewide Uniform Rate replaces a portion of the existing rate of tax levied
by this School District and available for maintenance and operation of schools in this District. The total proposed
school tax levy of 36.00 mills includes 25.00 mills specifically voted for general maintenance and operation
and 11.00 mills voted for debt service previously voted as a continuing levy pledged for the retirement of existing
bonded indebtedness. The surplus revenues produced each year by the debt service millage may be used by
the District for other school purposes. The total proposed school tax levy of 36.00 mills represents the same rate
presently being collected.

Sloan-Hendrix School
36.93 Mills School Tax
The total rate proposed above includes the uniform rate of tax 25.00 mills ( the “Statewide Uniform Rate”) to be
collected on all taxable property in the State and remitted to the State Treasurer pursuant to Amendment No.
74 to the Arkansas Constitution to be used solely for maintenance and operation of schools in the State. As
provided in Amendment No. 74, the Statewide Uniform Rate replaces a portion of the existing rate of tax levied
by this School District and available for maintenance and operation of schools in this District. The total proposed
school tax levy of 36.93 mills includes 25.00 and 11.93 mills voted for debt service previously voted as a
continuing levy pledge for the retirement of existing bonded indebtedness. The surplus revenues produced each year by the debt service millage may be used by the District for other school purposes. The total proposed school tax levy of
36.93 mills represents the same rate presently being collected.

Hillcrest School
35.9 Mills School Tax
To provide for the foregoing proposed budget of expenditures, the Board of Directors proposes a total school tax
rate (state and local) of 35.9 mills on the dollar of the assessed value of taxable property located in this School
District. The proposed tax includes the uniform rate of tax (the “Statewide Uniform Rate”) to be collected on all
taxable property in the State and remitted to the State Treasurer pursuant to Amendment No. 74 to the
Arkansas Constitution to be used solely for maintenance and operation of schools in the State. As provided in
Amendment No. 74, the Statewide Uniform Rate replaces a portion of the existing rate of tax levied by this School
District and available for maintenance and operation of schools in this District. The total proposed school tax levy of
35.9 mills includes 25.0 mills specifically voted for general maintenance and operation and 10.9 mills voted for debt service previously voted as a continuing levy pledged for the retirement of existing bonded indebtedness. The surplus revenues produced each year by debt service millage may be used by the District for other school purposes.
The total proposed school tax levy of 35.9 mills represents the same rate presently being levied.

Pocahontas School
32.81 Mills School Tax
The total rate proposed above includes the uniform rate of tax 25.00 mills (the “Statewide Uniform Rate”) to be
collected on all taxable property in the State and remitted to the State Treasurer pursuant to Amendment No.
74 to the Arkansas Constitution to be used solely for maintenance and operation of schools in the State. As
provided in Amendment No. 74, the Statewide Uniform Rate replaces a portion of the existing rate of tax levied
by this School District and available for maintenance and operation of schools in this District. The total proposed
school tax levy of 32.81 mills includes 25.00 mills specifically voted for general maintenance and operation
and 7.81 mills voted for debt service previously voted as a continuing levy pledged for the retirement of existing
bonded indebtedness. The surplus revenues produced each year by the debt service millage may be used by
the District for other school purposes. The total proposed school tax levy of 32.81 mills represents the same rate
presently being collected.

The election will be certified at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2026 in the Office of the County Clerk.
