Shannon Fisher, 54, of Walnut Ridge, passed from this life on Friday, January 16, 2026, in Walnut Ridge. He was born on September 25, 1971, in Bloomington, Illinois, to Harold and Pearline (Armstrong) Fisher.
Shannon was the youngest of nine siblings. He grew up in Walnut Ridge, which was always home to him. The friends he made and the lives he touched speak volumes about the wonderful man he was—kind, caring, and loving, with a heart so big that he left each of us holding a piece of it.
He was especially excited about the arrival of his first grandchild, a precious baby girl due in March. He told anybody—and everybody—who would listen, “Hey, I’m gonna be a grandpa.” And he absolutely would have been the best.
Shannon was a member of Columbia Jarrett Baptist Church in Maynard, Arkansas, and he was loved and adored by his church family. His beautiful smile, loving heart, and wonderful sense of humor made him such a joy to be around. As one church member shared, “His smile was the face of our church.” He will be deeply missed.
Shannon was employed by Martin Marietta at the Black Rock Quarry, where he was loved and respected by his work family. His work ethic was second to none. He was a jack of all trades and never met a piece of equipment he couldn’t tame. Dedicated and dependable, he always went above and beyond in everything he did.
To know Shannon was to love him—and love him we did. We were richly blessed to have him in our lives. As we look back and remember Shannon, may we carry forward what he taught us by example: laugh often, love deeply, help those in need, never take a single day for granted, and thank the Lord Jesus Christ for every breath we take.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Fisher; and brothers, Michael Harold Fisher and Jeffery Jay Fisher.
He is survived by his mother, Pearline Fisher of Walnut Ridge; son, Cody Fisher (Fiance Bre Tate); sisters, Pam Hancock (Scott) of Maynard, Tammie Gill (Von) of Powhatan, and Debbie Savage (Tom) of Woodland Park, Colorado; brothers, Mark Fisher of Clover Bend, Berry Fisher of Walnut Ridge, Perry Fisher of Minturn, and half-brother, Brian Fisher of Walnut Ridge; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 1 pm at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge. Derek Collins and David Emery will officiate.
