The Lawrence County Quorum Court voted during their December meeting 6-3 in favor of placing a proposed millage increase on the November 2026 for voters to decide.
The motion was introduced by Justice Clark and seconded by Justice Brewer. Those who voted for the measure to be placed on the ballot were Justice Clark, Justice Brewer, Justice Roberts, Justice Binkley, Justice Cox and Justice Jones. Those voting against the measure were Justice Yates, Justice Owens and Justice Moore.
The proposed millage increase will be placed on the November 2026 General Election ballot.
The one mil increase would go to county road improvements.
