On December 23, 2025, a deputy from the Clay County Sheriff’s Department made contact with an individual who had an outstanding felony warrant issued through our department. David ‘Dee’ Leonard, a 36-year-old resident of Corning, was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Corning Police Department. The warrant was issued on December 10, 2025, following an investigation into the fraudulent use of a stolen credit card. Mr. Leonard was then transported to the Clay County Detention Center by the Corning Police Department. He has been charged with violating section 5-37-207, fraudulent use of a credit or debit card, a class D felony. Mr. Leonard is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
