Harvey Lee Medlock, age 82, of Black Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2025.

Harvey was a devoted horse trainer and lifelong horseman who took great pride not only in his work but also in the relationships he formed throughout his life. He was one of the strongest men those who knew him had ever met, facing life with resilience, grit, and a deep appreciation for every moment. Harvey truly lived life to the fullest. He found joy in being around family and friends and was known for his kind heart, warm smile, and selfless nature, always putting others before himself. His love for his family and friends ran deep, and he would go to any length for those he cared about. Harvey felt most at peace outdoors—whether hunting, hosting family fish fries, spending time at deer camp sharing stories and laughter, or simply enjoying nature. He also loved to dance and could “cut a rug” with the best of them, bringing joy and laughter wherever he went.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisha Huntington (late Louie) of Strawberry, Arkansas; his son, Kenny Medlock of Black Rock, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Wendie (Treavor) Briggs of Batesville, Arkansas, and Nathan (Hannah) Newsom of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and his great-grandchildren, Alaysia Briggs, Treavor Briggs Jr., Elliot Newsom, Madden Newsom, and Jordy Newsom. He is also survived by his brother, Blakey (Mary) Ellis of Branson, Missouri; his sisters, Wanda (Dale) Bratten and Judy (Kevin) Salzman, both of Branson, Missouri; his nephew, Jimmy Ray Medlock of Wynne, Arkansas; along with many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Lee Newsom; his mother, Anna Lou Martin; his father, Noble Toby Medlock; his stepfather, Dewey Ellis; and brother, Jimmy Medlock.

Harvey will be remembered for his generosity, zest for life, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness, stories, and laughter.

“Though you will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved you, your journey here is complete. Hang your hat up, cowboy, and rest easy now.”
