Former Crawford County Library Board Director Tamara Hamby admits that she hired three people to kidnap her developmentally disabled adult child all while she watched from a car. Her daughter was chatting with people online and the Hamby’s did this to scare her and teach her a lesson because she claims they didn’t know what else to do.

Miss Hamby asserts no fault and wants her daughter back from DHS custody. Her daughter was kidnapped, which she didn’t know wasn’t real, was threatened by the kidnappers, restrained in a vehicle, moved and taken to a field where she was tied to a tree. She escaped, injured, and ran to a house where police were called.

While Miss Hamby in the past orchestrated and helped force the removal of LGBTQ books from local libraries, stating they would harm children, Miss Hamby caused harm to her own child through a horrific act and believes she was justified. While their has never been evidence that LGBTQ books are harmful to children, the evidence is clear that Tammi Hamby is through her own admissions.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim in this, that she can get the help and resources she needs.

The Democratic Party of Crawford County posted the above on their FB page.

Tamara Hamby submitted her resignation as a library board member on Nov. 24th. This was a week after the warrant was issued for her arrest.  Hambry turned herself into local authorities on December 3rd.

Three other suspects are also charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office named David Qbao Quach, Nico Austria, and Shannon Jazmin Yvonne Childers as the other individuals in this case.
