On November 27, 2025, an officer with the Corning Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on N. Missouri Ave. During the stop, the officer detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a small quantity of marijuana, as well as a glass pipe containing a crystal substance that field-tested positive for cocaine.

The passenger was cited for marijuana possession, while the driver, 52-year-old Daniele Wilburn of Rockford, Illinois, was arrested and transported to the Clay County Detention Center. Ms. Wilburn is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, schedule one, less than 2g, and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
