A Williford man has been arrested last week and charged with Rape, Terroristic Threatening and Aggravated Assault.
According to court documents, William Evans Rutledge is accused of forcing the victim at knife point to have sex with him. The victim stated while visiting with friends on September 20th, Rutledge entered the room she was sleeping in around 2:30am, threatening to kill her.
The victim reported the crime to Independence County investigators the next day and was passed along to Sharp County authorities since the crime occurred in Williford.
Rutledge was arrested and is currently being held on $1,000,000.00 bond in the Sharp County Detention Center.
