The Clay County Sheriff’s Dept. Reports on November 12th, receiving a report of several Beagle dogs being mistreated on Clay County Road 441, between McDougal and Boydsville.

The Beagles were not being fed properly, did not have enough drinking water, or adequate shelter. The Sheriff’s Dept. was also informed that there were 2 already dead.

The Sheriff’s Dept. went to the site on 441 and were not able to make contact with the owner. The Sheriff’s Dept. was able to get enough information on the owner to apply for an arrest warrant.

On Saturday, November 15th, the Sheriff’s Dept. Arrested 58yr. old David Doyle Crowe of Parma, MO. For 20 counts of Curelty to Animals. The Sheriff’s Dept. had learned that Mr. Crowe had been arrested 2 times in 2023 in Missouri for animal Cruelty.

He was Transported to the Clay County Detention Center. After Mr. Crowe arrived at the detention center; he signed over ownership of the dogs to MyZouy Rescue in Corning. The Sheriff’s Dept. would like to thank the shelter for their assistance in working with us, and taking ownership of the dogs.
