Law enforcement and medics were called to a protest in Black Rock on Saturday night just after 7pm.
For several days, some community members have protested a new local business in Black Rock on Main Street. The protesters have a grievance with the business’s owner who was convicted of Sexual Assault involving a minor in 2016.
On Saturday, a video surfaced of minor children being at the establishment, a violation of the owners plea agreement.
Law enforcement from both Black Rock Police and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies were called after one of the protesters was allegedly assaulted during last night’s protest. A medical unit from MedicOne Ambulance responded and check and released the injured person. Units were on scene until 8:40pm.
Protestors, including a parent and grandparent of the victim have stated they will continue their protest.
