COUPLE ARRESTED FOR CHILD ENDANGERMENT
November 6, 2025
Chad Griffith, age 41, and Danielle Griffith, age 36, both of Horseshoe Bend, were arrested on two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the first degree, a Class “D” felony.
The arrests stemmed from an investigation that began on September 30, 2025, regarding Chad Griffith, who was found to be an unregistered sex offender who had recently moved to Horseshoe Bend. On that date, deputies discovered the Griffiths and two minor children staying overnight in a tent on top of their vehicle at a business in Melbourne.
When investigators made contact, Chad Griffith was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A search of the vehicle revealed multiple firearms and additional drug paraphernalia. Chad was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Danielle Griffith was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, and the Department of Human Services (DHS) was notified.
On October 30, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office received information that one of the minor children tested positive for methamphetamine, leading to the additional charges of child endangerment.
