On October 29, 2025, officers from the Corning Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call on Crafton Street. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the 64-year-old victim, who reported that her son was behaving erratically and threatened to beat her into a coma. The officers then made contact with the suspect, who continued to act erratically and was yelling inside the residence. Subsequently, 43-year-old Jeremiah Carter was taken into custody and transported to the Clay County Detention Center. Mr. Carter was booked on the following charge: § 5-13-301 – Terroristic threatening, a Class D felony. Mr. Carter is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
