A search for a missing Fulton County man by multiple agencies on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning ends with the man being found safely.

From the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office:

On October 28, 2025 at approximately 7 p.m., Fulton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a missing elderly man in the 9 Mile ridge area.

75-year-old Denny Smith had reportedly left his residence earlier in the afternoon and had not returned.

After an initial search of the area, search teams were called for assistance.

The search went on through the night until 4 am. Due to in-climate weather conditions and the complete darkness the search was postponed until daylight.

Shortly after daybreak, Denny was found walking along McFadden Road. Denny appeared to be in good condition and he was medically checked.

Thank you to 9 Mile Fire Dep., Hardy Fire Dep., Mammoth Spring Fire Dep., Evening Shade, Sharp County Search and Rescue, Arkansas State Police and other agencies I may have failed to include. A special thank to Mountain Home Police Department for allowing an officer to come assist with the use of a drone and its night vision capabilities. Your hard work and service to others is commendable and wholly admirable.
