Earlier this evening, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT Team, along with members of Paragould PD, Arkansas State Police, and the U.S. Marshals Service was able to take Jacob Lowell Smith into custody at an abandoned house trailer just east of Oak Grove Heights without incident. Smith is a person of interest in the double homicide of two females in Fulton County that occurred on or around October 21st. He is also a parole absconder, with an active warrant for said offense.
The Arkansas State Police is heading the investigation concerning the double homicide in Fulton County, and as such, will be the agency responsible for any further media inquiries.
I would like express my appreciation to the personnel on the ground tonight that was able to make this arrest happen so that our neighbors over in Fulton County can rest a bit easier tonight. Should Sheriff Smith or the Arkansas State Police need further assistance from us, we will be ready and willing to assist with whatever is needed.
