On October 20, 2025 around 7:07pm, Cleburne County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a house in the 3000 block of Heber Springs Road North in Ida in reference to a shooting. When Deputies arrived, they made contact with a male, identified as Dustin Cannon. They also located another male, identified as Austin Cannon, deceased outside the home from apparent gunshot wounds. Deputies secured the scene and contacted Detectives to respond to the scene and conduct an investigation surrounding the incident.
After processing the scene, interviewing involved parties, and conferring with the Prosecutor’s Office, Dustin Cannon, 42 of Ida, was arrested and charged with one count of 1st Degree Murder. He is currently being held in the Cleburne County Detention Center with a bond of $1 Million dollars.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
