Cory Hufstedler, 10th grader at Sloan-Hendrix School District, was named to receive the September “Citizens Bank Excellence in Citizenship” award.

With this program, Citizens Bank and Sloan-Hendrix School District recognize students and staff members who are committed to living out the district’s mission to preserve yesterday, excel today and prepare for tomorrow. Staff nominate the award recipients who receive a Certificate of Excellence, an Excellence in Citizenship mug, a Greyhound Paw Print ink pen and keychain, and a $25 Walmart gift card from Citizens Bank. Sloan-Hendrix Superintendent Clifford Rorex and Citizens Bank Branch Manager Kimberly Moore presented the award.

“Cory consistently demonstrates kindness and integrity,” said Clifford Rorex, Superintendent of Sloan-Hendrix School District. “He always has a positive attitude and a willingness to help others.”

Cory is the son of Suzanne and Keith Matthews and James Hufstedler.
