Randolph County authorities arrested a Maynard man after he threatened to go to the electric company’s office and shoot everyone there.
Landon Copeland, age 38, was arrested and is being held in the Randolph County Detention Center without bond following his arrest Tuesday.
Copeland was charged with first-degree terroristic threatening.
Copeland allegedly called the Clay County Electric office on Sept. 29th to request that power be turned on at a home he was renting on Mosely Road.
Authorities note the power had been turned off “due to non-payment.”
Copeland reportedly became irate when the employees said they could not tell him how much was owed because his name was not on the account.
Copeland then threatened to come to the Corning office and shoot “everybody in it”.
On Sept. 30th, a Randolph County Judge found probable cause to arrest Copeland.
