From the Independence County Sheriff’s Office:
Early yesterday morning, the Arkansas State Police initiated a vehicle pursuit that led into Independence County. The Independence County Sheriff’s Department responded to assist with the chase.
After the pursuit came to an end, the driver fled the scene on foot. Officers remained in the area for several hours conducting a search, but the suspect was not located.
Tracking dogs from Newport and Calico Rock Prisons, were brought in to aid the search efforts. Despite the extensive search operation, the suspect remains at large.
The suspect is identified as Shawn W Crowe 35 years of age from White County. The suspect is not believed to be armed but residents should still lock their doors and pay attention to your surroundings. The investigation is ongoing by the Arkansas State Police.
