Authorities report a Bono man accused of sexually assaulting a minor was arrested and is being held on a $150,000 cash/surety bond.
Detectives were contacted by an investigator with the Crimes Against Children Division on Sept. 8th concerning a report of sexual assault of a minor. An interview was conducted with the victim and their mother which took place Sept. 10th.
The victim alleged on Sept. 2nd they were doing homework in their bedroom when 71-year-old Morris Gerald Jackson entered. The victim stated Jackson walked over to their bed and started tickling them, and grabbed them by the wrist and ankle, hurting them.
Court records show the victim was asked if Jackson had touched her inappropriately, the victim said yes and described the events to investigators.
The victim’s mother shared an audio recording of her walking into the victim’s bedroom and catching Jackson with the victim when the incident occurred.
The affidavit said that some of the victim’s clothes had been removed.
The mother confronted Jackson immediately and told Jackson to never return to the home again.
Jackson was interviewed on Sept. 16th and appeared before District Judge David Boling on Sept. 17th where he found probable cause to charge Jackson with second-degree sexual assault.
A no contact order was issued, Jackson’s next court date is scheduled for Oct. 30th.
