On September 14, 2025, officers from the Corning Police Department responded to a residence on the 700 block of Ferguson Road regarding a woman yelling for help.
Upon arrival, an officer made contact with a female who stated that she and her small children had been assaulted by the suspect, who was still inside the residence.
The female exhibited bruising and marks all over her body. The officers then made contact with the suspect and detained him immediately.
Upon observing marks on the small children in the home, officers spoke with the victim, who advised that she was also pregnant.
David Babb, 29, of Corning, was arrested and transported to the Clay County Detention Center. Mr. Babb is charged with three counts of Domestic Batterying in the Second Degree, Class B Felonies, Interference with Emergency Communication in the First Degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor in the Second Degree, Class A misdemeanors. On September 15, 2025, Clay County District Judge Dan Stidham set bond for Mr. Babb at $10,000 cash.
