On September 12, 2025, officers from the Corning Police Department made contact with a male individual at a residence located on the 400 Block of Jones Street. The subject had active warrants issued by the Craighead County Sheriff’s Department. Officers subsequently took 27-year-old Jonathan Jackson of Truman into custody. Mr. Jackson was also found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

While attempting to place the subject in the patrol car, Mr. Jackson began to struggle with the officers and then fled. The officers pursued Mr. Jackson through a wooded area and across a hay field.

Mr. Jackson was soon apprehended and transported to the Clay County Detention Center, where he was booked on the following charges:

§ 5-54-419 Possession of a controlled substance schedule 6 less than 4 ounces, § 5-54-443 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and § 5-54-112 Escape 3rd Degree Class C Felony.

Mr. Jackson is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
