Gary Dean Wells, 77, of the Noland community passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at his home.
He was born January 13, 1948 in Pocahontas to the late James and Maxine Tipton Wells. Gary attended Crowley’s Ridge College and then worked as a tool and die maker for TRW Cinch, Waterloo, and Pro-Dentec. He enjoyed raising livestock, gardening, going on four-wheeler trips, and sharing his wisdom as a country philosopher. Gary was a member of the Birdell Church of Christ where he faithfully served as an Elder, song leader, and Bible class teacher.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maxine Wells; grandson, Dylan Wells; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Sarah Wells; and brother-in-law, Darryl Harris.
Gary is survived by his wife, Janice Huss Wells; daughter, Theresa (Randy) O’Neal; son, Jim (Lisa) Wells; grandchildren, Levi (Ashley) O’Neal, Kara (Cory) O’Neal, Eunita Wells, Breana (Ty) Wells; great grandchildren, Olivia, Ian, Dylanie, Annie, and Kenady; sister, Gloria Harris; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
All services will be held in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 5-7 PM. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 10 AM with Timothy Wells and Stan Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery.
