At 8:18pm on Sunday night, Lawrence County E-911 received a call from a residence in the 200 block of North 4th Street in Black Rock stating a man in the home was threatening to harm himself and others with a firearm.

Lawrence County Deputies responded, Black Rock Police were notified, a medical unit from MedicOne Ambulance was placed on standby near the scene and negotiators from the Arkansas State Police were requested to respond.

Two individuals from the residence were able to leave the scene safely, the two walked away from the scene to a waiting Lawrence County Deputy.

As authorities began to arrive on scene, the suspect was reported to be outside on the porch with a firearm in his hands.

A section on North 4th Street was closed off by law enforcement as the incident unfolded.

At 8:34pm Black Rock Chief Bryan Archer made contact with the subject, shortly after it was reported that the subject was disarmed and in custody.

A medical unit responded to the scene and checked the subject for injuries. At 8:45pm the suspect was transported by Black Rock Police to the Lawrence County Detention Center.

No names have been released by BRPD at this time.
