City Of Pocahontas administration is reporting a Pocahontas Parks and Recreation worker was transported to a Memphis hospital on Thursday morning after the lawnmower he was riding rolled over into the river.

Authorities say the incident happened around 8:45 a.m.

The unidentified worker was mowing in Black River Park when he got a little close to the edge and the mower rolled over into the river, authorities say.

A fisherman in a boat nearby immediately went to the rescue of the worker from the water.

The worker was said to have suffered some injuries, he was transported to a Memphis Hospital.

City officials say the mower is in 6-8 feet of water and the city plans to recover it later today.
