At 8:59am Hoxie Police notified dispatch of a small passenger car with Arkansas Handicap Tags refusing to stop.
Seconds later the officer notified dispatch that speed had increased to over 100 mph on Hwy 367 headed towards Minturn.
The Hoxie officer stated the suspect nearly hit a passing vehicle and was “brake-checking” the officer attempting to disable the officer’s vehicle.
Hoxie was assisted by a unit from Walnut Ridge PD and a unit from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
As the pursuit passed the Lawrence County Road Department, speeds were said to be 103 mph.
The Hoxie officer attempted to PIT (precision mobilization technique) several times as the pursuit slowed coming into Minturn.
The pursuit finally came to an end in the 1300 block of Hwy 367. The subject attempted to flee on foot. Officers reported a tazer was deployed but was unsuccessful. The subject was reportedly fighting with officers before they were able to take the subject into custody at 9:24am.
No names were released, the vehicle was towed by 412 Towing, a medical unit was requested to the jail to check out the suspect.
