Court records show a Horseshoe Bend man was sentenced to 28 years in prison on rape charges and other charges.
Shawn Higginbotham age 34 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested in December after he held a woman against her will, beating and raping her.
Higginbotham was charged with four counts of rape, two counts of domestic battery, aggravated assault, and kidnapping.
Higginbotham also received a habitual offender enhancement for four previous felony convictions, including battery and theft of property.
