Searchers have recovered the body of the man who went into the White River on July 4th 2025 according to Independence County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the body was discovered Saturday just downstream from where the man was last seen in the river.
Independence County Dive Team, Stone County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission assisted in the recovery today according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Search Underway In White River For Missing Man

A search is underway for a man who went missing Friday night on the White River near York Island in the Melrose community, between Mountain View and Batesville.
The man was reportedly last seen around 10 p.m. on Friday with a group of people when he entered the river.
Independence County authorities report that emergency responders have been on the scene, with the search concentrated between the area of York Island and Lock 2 on the White River.
