A sex offender registered with the Sheriff’s Office was arrested this morning, July 9th, for two violations of the sex offender registration laws.
In the course of his duties of monitoring registered sex offenders, Sheriff’s Deputy Tanner Anderson obtained information indicating that sex offender CHAD VINCENT DOUGLAS, who has repeatedly claimed to be homeless during routine status checks going back to the year 2022, has in fact been residing at the Kingswood Mobile Home Park in rural Mountain Home for an extended period of time. Based upon that information, Deputy Anderson obtained a search warrant to enter the mobile home that DOUGLAS was believed to be living in. The search warrant was served earlier this morning. Deputies found CHAD DOUGLAS asleep inside the residence. Multiple items of the offender’s personal belongings were also found inside the residence.
This mobile home park is located across the highway from the soccer complex city park, which would preclude a level 3 sex offender from being allowed to reside there.
CHAD DOUGLAS, 38 years of age, was arrested and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked on charges of:
Failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements – Felony
Sex offender residing in prohibited area – Felony
CHAD DOUGLAS is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond, and he is scheduled to appear before the Circuit Court to answer on July 21st.
